Human skeleton

·            All bones in our body are not the same shape. Each bone is different. All the bones together form a skeleton.

·            The skeleton gives shape to the body.

·            Axial skeleton includes skull, spine and rib cage. Human body has total 206 bones.

·            Bone structure is hard. Bones are not flexible. Bone structure is mainly composed of two components. Bones are formed from inorganic substances like calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate, minerals, salts.

·            Calcium strengthens our bones.

·            There are four types of bones – flat bones, small bones, irregular bones, long bones and skeleton is divided into two parts – axial skeleton and appendicular skeleton.
