Ohm’s law

• Georg Simon Ohm, a German physicist, established a rule for measuring the resistance of an electric conductor.

• The current flowing through a conductor is proportional to the potential difference between the two ends of that conductor.

• According to this rule

 I =V/R

         V= Potential difference between two ends of the conductor

          I= Current flowing in the conductor

          R= Resistivity of the conductor

 • Potential changes are measured in volts and electric current in amperes

• SI unit of resistance is Ohm
