Liver​


 


Human liver weighs around  1.3 to 3.0 kg. It is soft and pinkish grey in color.​

 

It is the second largest organ and the largest gland in the human body. ​

 

This organ is located in the upper part of the abdomen below the ribs.​

 

Liver performs various functions of the body like storing energy in the form of sugar storing vitamins, iron, salts.​

 

Also it  process damaged red blood cells.​

 

About 7% of body iron is stored in the liver.​

 

Liver stores enough vitamin A to last for six months​

 

Processes inactive hemoglobin to form bilirubin.​

 

Liver does the job of cholesterol control in our body. The liver makes cholesterol from the ingredients in our daily diet.​

 

The liver is also responsible for draining the body of unnecessary substances and toxins. Toxins, chemicals, unnatural substances can stress the liver, which can affect the entire body.​
