Solar system​


 

The solar system is made up of celestial objects orbiting the Sun due to its gravity.​

 

The Solar System consists of eight major planets, their 165 known moons, 5 dwarf planets (Plutoscat), and numerous smaller objects. Smaller objects include meteors, comets, the asteroid belt.​

 

Planets according to their distance from the Sun are - Mercury, Venus , Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus (Herschel) and Neptune (Varuna).​

 

Six of the eight planets have natural satellites (commonly used word in Marathi - moon) around them while rings are found around the outer planets.​
